so things went well today.
the ultrasound showed everything to be normal at this point. fluid levels are good.. heart rate, blood flow, etc are all good. we can see that our little girl has big cheeks for us to pinch :) and we saw her sucking on her arm and sticking her tongue out at us. we saw her little feet and toes. and confirmed that there are no boy parts (i had a horrible dream last night that she was born a boy, but because she was so late, she -- rather, he -- had facial hair).
then we headed up to see the doctor. i had printed out my cycle chart to show him that i had ovulated later than the pregnancy wheel assumes, and he was happy to adjust my due date for us. so he changed my official due date to may 8, which means that as of today i am only 1 week late. this gives us 4 more days for family beginnings, and that is fabulous. he really doesn't want me to go beyond 42 weeks, so if she doesn't come on her own before hand, we will be inducing on thursday, may 22. baby girl gets one more week and then she's getting evicted.
derek and i both felt very good about the conversation with the doctor and feel at peace about the schedule we're on now. of course, we're anxious as ever to meet her and hold her, but we feel like we're making the right decisions now.
we'll try and post some highlights from today's ultrasound soon...

I'm glad the doctor listened to you about your chart and your due date being later!
**Come out, come out, little baby!**
