update on the potbelly incident.

this is obviously not baby related, but i thought people might be curious what happened with the potbelly thing and the SPEAR that ended up in my tongue after my turkey sandwich on friday.

as i mentioned, the ER doc did a nice job getting it out. on tuesday as we were on the way out the door to the OB, a nice man from potbelly corporate called to follow up with me on the incident. i gave him all the details and he was noticeably unnerved when i told him i was 9.5 months pregnant... :) he said to take the "thorn" to the store so that they could send it to him. he also said that i would be contacted by their insurance company to figure out how to get them the ER bill. he agreed that from my description, it sounded like something that had come into the store from their suppliers, and not something that entered my sandwich thru employee negligence or safety issues. he said he would definitely be following up with his suppliers.

today we got a letter in the mail from the corporate guy thanking us for reporting the incident and enclosed were coupons for 3 free sandwiches.

the insurance guy called yesterday and we've been playing phone tag ever since.

in all, i've been kind of amazed at the attention i've been getting from them on this. they've been incredibly responsive and proactive...which, i guess they should be, but i'm still a little surprised by it.
