time doesn't so much march on lately as it does drag itself across the floor by the fingernails. i think this past week has been the absolute slowest of my life. thank God for the beautiful weather we've been having, though, because otherwise i have no idea what sort of mental state i'd be in.
as for news from the doctor, there isn't any. i am STILL 1cm dilated, 75% effaced. absolutely nothing has changed. well, they think i have a urinary tract infection, but other than that, nothing has changed.
we've scheduled my next appointment and if i make it that long, they'll do a non-stress test to make sure the baby is doing alright. if they get any questionable results from that test, they will schedule me for an ultrasound to check some additional things, like making sure the amniotic fluid level is sufficient.
i am really frustrated. not because i'm past my due date, but because i've been at the same dilation/effacement for so long without any progress. i'm a bit frustrated with my body right now, that it's seemingly at a standstill and not working toward getting this little girl out into the world. some moments, i feel at my absolute wits' end...mostly i'm just insanely bored and impatient. i'm fairly determined, though, to let her come on her own time. i just hope that time is very soon.

I hate to say this Megan, but this is the beginning of having a relationship with a child who wants to do things at their own time...just wait until you are trying to get her dressed for school!! :) She's got a mind of her own and will do things on her own time (and nothing is more frustrating!! :) :)
Just remember that you have made a perfect home for your baby to grow and the baby just appreciates that and is loving the last moments before being brought out to this new world!!
And she WILL come out!! :)
Love you and thinking of you speggie!!
Ah yes, the interminable wait... :) I know you know this, but I'll reiterate - dilation and effacement before labor have pretty much nothing to do with when your baby is coming out! She could be born 12 hours from now! I was closed up tight three days before both Aspen and Lily were born and then walked around at a 3 for three weeks with Hazel. So, you never know. I do hope, though, that you don't go crazy and your little one decides to come out SOON!!
