Finally! Today at 6:52am after laboring since yesterday at 845am Megan and Derek welcomed their baby girl to the world. She held on to Megan for as long as she possibly could before she let Megan get her out. Charis Anne Marie was born at 7 lbs 14oz and 20 3/4 in. long. Megan did an amazing job the whole time. She was so focused and calm, and did everything she could to bring Charis into this world safely. She and Derek both succeeded with flying colors, and now they have a beautiful baby in their arms.
Because the labor was so hard, and exhausting, they are thinking they don't want phone calls and visits until they let you know things are going okay for them. They will begin updating the blog, email, etc. But for now, err on the side of caution and assume they are sleeping. They will surely appreciate your emails and prayers.

PS. I may or may not have spelled Anne Marie correctly, so wait for the word from Megan and Derek before you do anything crazy like embroider her name on something special. (:
